It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend Michael W. Bodge. Michael was 28 and passed away at home on Saturday April 27,2019 with the ones he loved gathered around him. He fought his cancer with courage, strength, grace, and always had a positive attitude. He loved life, enjoyed a party, and was adored and respected by everyone. Mike was an amazing human who had a huge impact on so many people, he will never be forgotten and will live on in our hearts.
Michael was born on September 21, 1990 the youngest of two sons to Gary and Annmarie (Cuccaro) Bodge. Michael graduated from Shrewsbury High School where he played on the soccer, indoor track and lacrosse teams. He went on to Clemson University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. As much as he loved his Clemson experience and life in South Carolina, his heart drew him back to his hometown of Shrewsbury where he proudly bought his first home. Michael started his career at Metso Automation where he was the Northeast Service Center Sales Manager. On April 17th he married the love of his life, Meghan Lennon. Ten days later, Michael passed away with his bride, parents, brother, and mother and father in- law by his side.
Michael is survived by his bride Meghan Lennon, his parents Gary and Annmarie Bodge of Shrewsbury. His brother Nicholas Bodge, sister in law Aimee, their son and his godson, Carter Michael Bodge of Holden; in laws John and Joanne Lennon of Charlton; brother and sister in laws Pat and Beth Lennon of Maine, Chris and Andrea Lennon of West Boylston; his dog Rocco; Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family and so many friends who loved him. He loved sports, and followed all of the New England teams. He was knowledgeable and passionate about all sports, especially football. There was no bigger Clemson fan than Mike and winning the national football championship this year brought him such joy. Go Tigers!
Friends and relatives are invited to gather for calling hours, Wednesday May 1st from 4 pm-8pm in the Mercandante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His celebration of Christian life Mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, May 2nd at St Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury (Please go directly to the church) Entombment near his grandparents will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
