Michael J. Capone, Jr.

Michael J. Capone, Jr., 79 of West Boylston, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, June 17, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born in Worcester, a son of the late Michael J. and Filomena (Azzarone) Capone.  He grew up in Worcester and later moved to West Boylston where he resided for 52 years. Michael graduated from North High School and went on to get his electrical license.  He was an Electrician, which he was very passionate about, for 60 years and the Wiring Inspector for the Town of West Boylston for over 30 years.  He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and most recently Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.  Michael enjoyed talking and spending time with family and friends telling stories and jokes.  He also loved cooking and eating even more.  Michael had an appreciation for a good-looking lawn and took pride to tending to his yard.  He spent several summers in Mystic, CT on the family’s boat and later in their home in Boca Raton, FL.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia M. (MacRae) Capone; four children, Michael Capone of Sonoma, CA., Thomas Capone of Worcester, Matthew Capone of Scottsdale, AZ. and Chandra Capone of Rutland; his brother, Joseph Capone and his wife Lorrie of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted children and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 4-7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Services will be held on Saturday, June 24th with a procession from the funeral home to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am.  Burial will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
