Michael "Coach" Clark

Michael “Coach” Clark, 63, loving husband, father, and son, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born October 9, 1959 to W. Buckley Clark and Gae (Strong) Clark, Michael touched the lives of all who knew him. Michael enjoyed all sports and actively coached youth baseball (Tom Ash Little League) and basketball (YMCA, Friendly House), but his real love was football. He coached Worcester Vikings Youth Football for 17 years and was league President for four years. He gave everything he had and was a positive influence to many.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 38 years, Jamie (Settle) Clark; their two sons, Michael Clark and Nicholas Clark, Mother and Stepfather Gae (Strong) Clark Freniere and Raymond Freniere; one brother Todd Clark; his Uncle Charles Strong and wife Sandy Strong, Uncles David Strong and Robert Strong, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and his beloved dogs, Lambeaux and Hershey. Michael is predeceased by his Father, William Buckley Clark, and Uncle Kenneth Strong.

Friends and Relatives are invited to calling hours Wednesday, May 31st, from 4 pm to 7 pm in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street. His funeral service will be held Thursday, June 1st, at 10:30 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name can be made to Worcester Vikings Youth Football, 50 Fox Meadow Drive, Worcester, MA 01602.
