It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Michael T. Pedone, into eternal life. Michael passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 30, 2024, in his home. He was 68 years old.

Michael was born in Worcester on August 23, 1955, the son of Julio M. and Barbara A. (Potter) Pedone. He leaves behind his brother, Reverend Monsignor F. Stephen Pedone, Pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Loreto Parish, Worcester, and his sister, Cynthia A. Pedone, also of Worcester, and many cousins and friends.

Michael ‘walked to the beat of a different drummer.’ He had a huge heart and he loved people. Michael was a loyal friend to many.

He graduated in 1973 from Burncoat High School in Worcester and attended Cape Cod Community College. He was also a trained machinist.

Throughout his life he had many jobs, always a free spirit. His most recent occupation was in transportation with Valet Park, a job he loved. He was a hard worker.

Michael was intelligent, funny, an avid reader, well informed, loved to talk politics and sports. As a youngster, he played Little League Baseball for Bayer-Mingolla, where his father served as the team’s coach and manager, at the Joe DiMaggio Little League Field on the former property of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on what is now Mount Carmel Way.

He loved all the Boston professional sports’ teams but had a special dedication to the Boston Red Sox.

Michael will be sadly missed by his brother, sister, family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Reverend John F. Madden, Pastor of Saint John Parish, Worcester, who Michael considered a friend and confidante, for his kindness to our brother.

Memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name to Saint John’s Food for the Poor, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
