Michael A. Perro, Sr. 74 of Oxford, a longtime Worcester business owner passed away with the ones he loved gathered at his side Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
Michael was born in Worcester, one of five children of Michael J. and Anna (Gentile) Perro. He attended Sacred Heart Academy, graduated from Shrewsbury High School, and furthered his education at Quinsigamond Community College. As a young man, Mike could be found helping his father with the family business, Perro’s Auto Sales in both Worcester and Auburn, before assuming the role of President when his father retired. He guided and operated the business with his three brothers continuing to this day. He also served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era.
Michael is survived by “the Love of his life” and life partner for over 20 years Worcester School Committee woman, Dianna Biancheria; his four sons, Michael A. Perro, Jr. and his wife Amy of Spencer, Jason Perro and his wife Melissa of Leicester, Joseph Perro and his wife Justina of Swampscott, and Justin Perro of Brighton; three brothers, Anthony Perro of Worcester, Robert Perro and his wife Paula of Boylston, John Perro and his wife Cindy of Whitinsville; a sister, Cheryl A. Meuse and her husband Tony of Worcester; six grandchildren, Ashlyn, Meagan, Thomas, Michael, Weston and Sienna; In-laws, Brenda and Chip Raffa and John Biancheria; two aunts, Jean Perro, Marion (Gentile) Biando and her partner, Nicholas Santora; Many nieces, nephews, a great niece, extended family and many friends.
Michael was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel parish, the Order Sons of Italy in America, and several used car associations. Mike was extremely passionate and always concerned with the health of the business and its success was due to all his efforts over his life. He was also an accomplished cook, who found enjoyment preparing breakfast for family and friends, notably on Sunday mornings, always having his children and grandchildren by his side. A member of a large family and extended family, Mike always looked forward to the holidays and special occasions when they all could be together. He enjoyed music of the Rat pack era, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin etc., Sea Gull Beach on West Yarmouth and watching movies, most of which he could recall favorite lines. Michael ‘s business knowledge and work ethic made a mark on all he did throughout his life, he was always ready to lend a hand to help.
Calling hours for Michael will be held Monday, October 25th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Tuesday October 26th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St John’s Cemetery.
