It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of Worcester Attorney Michael R. Revelli, Jr, of West Boylston, co-founder, senior partner and presently of Counsel of Revelli & Luzzo, PC. Law offices, passed away peacefully Friday, July 20th 2018 with the family he dearly loved gathered at his side.
Michael was born in Worcester on April 11, 1935, one of three children of Michael J. and Mary L. (Leone) Revelli. He was raised in Millbury, graduated from Millbury High School in 1953, earned his bachelors of Arts degree from Holy Cross in 1958. Mike then went on to study Law at the New England School of Law, in Boston, receiving his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1961. With a thirst for the military and strong desire serve his country, Michael then entered and graduated from the Massachusetts Military Academy in 1963. He then began an over 50 year journey as a Lawyer in private practice. Michael notably stated he “loved the practice of law, and serving his clients” This is why he never formerly retired. Michael from 1992 to 2004 was a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission, appointed by Gov. Weld in 1992, Gov. Cellucci in 1996 and Gov. Swift in 2000. Michael also argued cases before the Supreme Court of Massachusetts and the United States District Court.
Michael is survived by the “love of his life”, Joanne M. (Tennaro) Carney, Revelli; his two sons, Michael Revelli, III of Worcester, Jon L Revelli and his wife Patricia of Shrewsbury; two stepsons, Brian Carney of Gilford, New Hampshire, John Carney and his wife Lynn of Monson; a sister, Rosemary Pace of Worcester and James T. Revelli and his wife Claire of Sutton; his former daughter in law, Deborah J. Carney of Holden; seven grandchildren, Geoffrey, Brandon, Victoria, Nicholas and Ryan Revelli, Ryan and Jacob Carney; Nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends, including several close friends, who met regularly to enjoy each other’s company. His brother in law, Michael Pace and lifelong best friend, Holy Cross College, and New England School of Law roommate, and weekly dinner partner Dickie Joseph, pre deceased him.
Michael was a member of the Worcester, Massachusetts and American Bar Associations, the Holy Cross order of the purple knights, The Knights of Columbus Adelphi Council 4181in Shrewsbury, and the Shrewsbury Lions club, awarded its highest award the “Joseph Camarada award” Memorable moments in Michaels life were those boating on lake Quinsigamond, tending his flower and vegetable gardens. Michael was a man that everybody loved. He was a friend to all, always had a smile on his face and would help anyone that needed a hand for anything.
Friends and relatives are invited to Calling Hours Tuesday, July 24th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His celebration of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 24th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston where his Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the Shrewsbury Lions Club, Attn: Jim Marine, P.O Box 551, Shrewsbury, MA. 01545 or online at www.lionsclub.org.
