Michael F. Richardson

September 18, 1952 — August 10, 2018

Michael F. Richardson, 65, of Worcester, MA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 10, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.  Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was born and raised in Worcester and was a graduate of Worcester Vocational High School in 1972, trained in painting and wall papering.  He worked for 14 years at Standard Foundry before joining Cutler Real Estate Management in 1986, retiring in 2016 after 30 years of service. Mike will be remembered in the homes of many for his tireless commitment, skilled craftsmanship, and his gentle soul.
Mike leaves behind his devoted wife Terry Richardson (Therese R. Martin) of 38 years along with their son Dr. Michael P Richardson, MD of Cambridge and his wife Dr. Monica Wang ScD. and his two granddaughters, Sienna and Alexandra Richardson who he loved dearly.   He is the son of the late Helen J (Wilson) Richardson of Worcester and father Clarence Richardson of Clinton, MA.  He is survived by (3) Sisters, Ethel Toney of Worcester, Clarice Agyemang of Southbridge and Frances Garnet of Ashland and her husband Lamar Garnet along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Charles (Buster) Richardson in 2007.  Mike is a member of the Nipmuc Nation Tribe and often worked alongside his late brother Buster at the food shack for many years in Grafton MA.
Mike belonged to the Auburn Bowling League for over 46 years, winning many championships and had 4 perfect games.  When Mike was not bowling, he was playing horseshoes at the American Legion Club in West Boylston.  Mike was a true New England Sports Fan.  He loved watching the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics games, hosting many playoff parties at his home.  Mike and his wife Terry enjoyed bike riding through the Rail-Trails of New England, as well as attending yearly Jazz and Blues Festivals at Mt Wachusetts in Princeton and in Newport and Charlestown RI. Together Mike and Terry traveled and vacationed through-out the US and visited many Tropical Islands. Mike will be dearly missed and remembered for his hard work and dedication to his friends and family.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Mike touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018.  Mike’s funeral service will be celebrated immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will be held privately.
