Monalisa Michelle (Hayes) Burns, 53 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 25, 2022 in Greenville, South Carolina.
Monalisa was born in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Alto L. Hayes, Jr. and the late Diane (McDonald) Hayes. She worked for many years as a district manager of the City of Worcester Housing Authority.
Monalisa is survived by two daughters, Audretta Burns of Simpsonville, SC and Mercedes Burns of Worcester; her father and step-mother, Alto and Yvonne Hayes of Worcester; her former spouse, Craig Burns of Worcester; her paternal grandmother, Angel P. Hampton of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Azana Monalisa Burns, Josiah Rockwell, Taeshaun Rockwell, Marcellus Rockwell, Joel Benitez, Adrian Benitez and Jaelanie Lisabella Benitez; twenty nine siblings; many aunts and uncles, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Monalisa is predeceased by her mother, Diane (McDonald) Hayes; a brother, Jessie A.L. Hayes; a sister, Mona Lisa Harris.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon with her funeral service immediately following at 12:00 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
