Myrlande Alexis

Myrlande Alexis, 69 of Worcester passed away home to the lord at home, Thursday, October 28, 2021, with loved ones gathered at her side after a battle with Alzheimer’s

Myrlande was born in Porta Prince, Haiti, the daughter of Abner and Marianne (Lucas) Alexis.  Raised and educated in Haiti, Myrlande immigrated to Canada then to U.S.A. at the age of 19 and began a career caring for those not able.  She worked the last 30 years, for the Clark Manor Nursing Home, now Parsons Hills as a Certified Nurse Aide before retiring due to illness.

Myrlande is survived by two sons, Fedlert Alexis and his life partner Monica Pearl with whom she lived and Darenson Alexis of Worcester;  two brothers, Claude Alexis in Haiti, and Himmler Alexis in NYC;  two grandchildren she cherished and enjoyed so much love and time with, Makenna and Dylan; Nieces, nephews, and extended family members both here and in Haiti.  In addition to her parents, a sister, Evelyne and Edward Alexis predeceased her.

Myrlande was the matriarch of her family,  she cared for her family with dedication, devotion, and extreme amounts of love.  Her family always came first in her life no matter what.  She was the backbone of her family and remained devoted to them throughout life.  She was a beautiful person who was passionate about her job, and her family.   She truly believed that faith, family, and friends were the most important and she had room in her heart for everyone she met.  Myrlande met every challenge in her life with unwavering faith.  Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will never be forgotten.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 13,^th, 2021, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  Her funeral will follow at 10:30 am.  Burial next to her mother will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
