Nancy J. Sampson

Nancy J. (Harrington) Sampson, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, joining the love of her life, George, who passed away on May 2, 2021.

Nancy was born in Holden Hospital, daughter of the late, Charles and Pearl (Lombard) Harrington, and was raised in Princeton.  She went on to pursue a career as a teacher, but left teaching to work for the IRS.

Nancy and George spent their retirement years in Maine and Florida.  She loved to do oil paintings and was devoted to her loving husband and family.

She is survived by three children, Sherry Scholl and her husband John of San Ramon, CA, Sally Ann Sampson and her fiancé Joel Carlson of Auburn, and Rusty Sampson and his wife Kelly of Princeton; a sister, Sally McGuire; four grandchildren, Daniel Scholl and his wife Serina, their children, Marie and Niko, Emily Gruber and her husband Brian and their son Gabriel, Christopher Sampson, and Michael Sampson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial Calling Hours for both Nancy and George will be on Thursday, October 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  They will be interred privately at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Nancy and George may be made to Jackson Lab, 600 Main Street, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609; a lab focused on genetic and cancer research and medicine developement.
