Farewell, dear family and friends. My journey through this life has been the best, and I thank you all for sharing it with me.
I was born December 25, 1937 to Generoso and Diamande Mazzone, and they named me Natalia, which in Italian means Born on Christmas Day. I grew up in Malden, Massachusetts with my three brothers, Armand, Georgio and Ernesto, and my three sisters, Maria, Carmella and Julia. I was the baby of the family!
After graduating from high school, I attended Hickox Secretarial School in Boston, graduating on May 29, 1957. But then I got "the calling" as they say, and I decided I wanted to give my life to God, so I became a Poor Clares nun, spending several years in seclusion in the Monastery of St. Clare in Andover, Mass. But God had a different calling for me, and I left the convent before taking my final vows. Even so, my desire was always to live a devout and God-centered life.
I lived with with my sister Carmella in California for about a year and got a job at Faberge Cosmetics. When I had to return to Malden for our mother's funeral. I made the decision to stay there to care for my father. I soon began my career in the world of banking as a mortgage officer. In 1970, I met the love of my life, Larry (Harold) Kelley. We were married in 1971 and we shared many years of love, laughter, travel, dancing, and just enjoying time with family and friends. We remained deeply in love until his passing in April of 2023.
I loved to cook for my family and friends who visited, and even if the visits were short, I always had coffee, sweets and liqueur to serve!
To my family and friends, thanks for all the great memories. Please don't mourn my loss, for there are many, many loved ones waiting for me with open arms in Heaven. I'm so grateful for all the blessings I was given. And please don't ever forget, it doesn't cost anything to love one another.
