Neil E. Tainter

Neil E. Tainter, 27 of Worcester, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at UMass Medical Center.

Neil was born on February 23, 1992 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He graduated from Worcester Technical High School where he studied automotive. Neil was a self-employed mechanic and also worked as a plasterer. He loved fishing, playing the guitar, working on cars, as well as spending time with family and friends. He had an incredible giving soul, a trait he inherited proudly from his parents.

Neil is survived by his parents, Paul H. and Karen M. (Gregory) Tainter of Worcester; his sister, Sarah Jeanne Tainter of Worcester; five aunts, Cheryl Newton and her husband Paul of Slidell, LA, June Pugliese of West Boylston, Michelle Bianchi and her husband Richard of New Ipswich, NH, Donna L. Lavoie and her husband Edward and Mary Ellen Gregory all of Worcester; five uncles, James E. Gregory and his wife Nancy of Shrewsbury, Paul D. Gregory of Boylston, Peter J. Gregory and his wife Dawn of Watertown, Mark Needham of Worcester and Anthony Popillo of Florida; many cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Ardeth “Bunny” Tainter; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Eleanor B. (Bott) Gregory; two aunts, Gail Popillo and Doreen A. Needham; an uncle, Raymond Pugliese.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Neil’s 28th birthday, Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 3-5 pm with his Memorial Service to be held immediately following at 5 pm. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
