Nemr “Tiger” Rizkalla, 68 of Tamarac, FL formerly Worcester passed away with loved ones gathered at his bedside, Wednesday November 3, 2021, after a brief illness.
Nemr was born March 10th, 1953, in Aita-El-Fakhar, Lebanon, a son of Boulos and Mary (Ansara) Rizkalla. Raised in Lebanon, Nemr immigrated with his family to the United Sates and Worcester in 1970. He then lived here until moving to Florida in the early 1980’s where he founded, Universal Auto Upholstery in Lauderhill. He guided, nurtured, and served as its president until 2008 when he retired. Tiger continued to live in Florida until recently.
Nemr is survived by his siblings, Checri “Chic” , George, and Nancy Rizkalla, Hanne Kanaan, and her husband William all of Worcester, and Dorsi Hanna in Lebanon; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members both here and in Lebanon. In addition to his parents, a brother, Michael Rizkalla passed away in 1998.
Tiger was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral. An avid Golfer, Tiger played many rounds with friends and family whenever and wherever he could. He also loved to travel, spending months at a time with friends in Thailand, and family in Lebanon as well as home to Worcester for the holidays. Nemr was a generous, unassuming man who was well known to businesses and customers in Florida. He was very generous and always willing to give instead of take.
A period of calling hours will be held Monday, November 8, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. followed by his funeral service at 11 am. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name can be made to St George orthodox Cathedral endowment fund, 30 Anna St.
