Nicholas F. Cammuso, 89, formerly of Sterling passed away peacefully July 1, 2021, at Harrington Healthcare, after a brief illness. His wife of 35 years, Carmella (Locantore) Cammuso predeceased him in 1990.
Nicholas was born in Millbury, one of ten children of Frank and Jennie (Monfreda) Cammuso. Mr. Cammuso enlisted in United States Army during the Korean war and was honorably discharged in 1953. Nicholas worked for many years as the Superintendent at The International Golf Club before retiring. Nicholas has been a resident at The Overlook in Charlton for the past several years.
He leaves his two children; a daughter, Cynthia Weldon and her husband Kevin of Charlton, MA and a son, Michael Cammuso and his wife Rose of Bridgewater, MA. He leaves his granddaughter, Christina Cammuso of Bridgewater, MA; a brother, Albert and his wife Jacqueline of Worcester; a sister, Rosalie Bennes of Shrewsbury and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by five brothers, George, Andrew, Frank, Paul, and Angelo Cammuso and two sisters, Francis Ciampaglia and Philomena Felice.
Nicholas was a member of the American Legion Post 201 and was a life member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of New England. He was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades. During his younger years he worked as a Licensed Pipe Fitter for Wyman Gordon and enjoyed being a member of the Flying 140 Club.
The family would like to thank the 3SNF care staff at The Overlook in Charlton for the quality care provided and special thanks to “Nick’s Chicks” for loving him a bushel and a peck and hug around his neck.
