Nicholas S Pennucci

February 25, 1962 — August 17, 2020

Nicholas S. Pennucci, 58, passed away Monday, August 17th, 2020 after being stricken ill at home.

Nick was born and raised in Worcester, son of Domenic N. and Rita M. (DiLiddo) Pennucci. He graduated from Holy Name High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. Nick worked in recreation management his entire career. He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at Rutland State Park, Milford State Pool, and Navin Arena in Marlborough. He continued his career as a manager at the New England Sports Center. For the past 24 years, Nick worked for Facility Management Corporations as the manager of the Buffone Arena on Lake Avenue in Worcester, where he made lifelong friends with many of the rink patrons he crossed paths with.

Nick had many passions. He was an avid fisherman and boater. He belonged to Singletary Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed taking his family on vacation to Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. His love for music of all genres brought him to numerous concerts throughout his lifetime. One of Nicks greatest pleasures was everything hockey. He was a season ticket holder for the Worcester Ice Cats and the Worcester Sharks. Nick encouraged the love of this sport in everyone from learn-to-skate to professional hockey. Although he followed all Boston sports, he was a true fan of the the Montreal Canadiens.

Nick was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and loved to spend time entertaining around his pool. He could light up any gathering with a funny story and his quick wit.

Nick will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend of over 30 years, Meg (Smith) Pennucci; his three children, of whom he was most proud, Kristen E. Pennucci of Brighton, Justine R. Pennucci, and Nicholas S. Pennucci Jr. both of Worcester; his sister, Donna M. DeFeudis and her husband Fran of West Boylston; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
