Norman P. Romano, 71, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at his home after a long illness.
Norman was born on September 21, 1952, the son of the late John A. Romano, Sr. and Edith (Felice) Romano. Norman lived in Shrewsbury most of his life. He was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School, earned his bachelor’s degree at Holy Cross College, and received his law degree from Quinnipiac University.
Norman was admitted to the bar in 1980 and joined his father’s law practice, Romano & Romano in Worcester. He spent his entire legal career at Romano & Romano practicing law with his brother and sister. Norman cared deeply about his clients and truly enjoyed helping people.
Later in his career, Norman was the president and a partner in NAPAC, Inc., a pipefitting distribution company in Worcester. NAPAC was Norman’s second job that he did while he continued to practice law. He was very devoted to his employees and considered all of them an extension of his family.
Norman was a volunteer on the board of Friendly House for many years. He also taught business law as an adjunct professor.
Above all, Norman’s family meant everything to him. Norman spent much of his free time visiting with his children and his granddaughter. He loved watching his children during the years they played sports. He also loved spending time in Vermont skiing with his family.
Second to his family, Norman loved adventure. He was a boat captain who ran a charter sailboat for a period of time and spent a large portion of his free time sailing with his friends. Norman traveled all throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas and spoke fondly about his travels. Perhaps through his travels his love of food developed. Although very particular about food, great food and fine dining guaranteed a smile out of Norman especially when he could share it with his family.
Norman is survived by his devoted wife, Kristine P. Romano; his children, Felicia M. Romano, of Marstons Mills, Ryan P. Romano, of Centerville and Evan C. Romano, of Shrewsbury; a brother, John Romano, Jr., of Shrewsbury; a sister, Carole Romano, of Spencer; a granddaughter, Rory Lesser; and several nieces and nephews. Norman also had many great friends, including his ex-wife, Linda Romano and his best friend, Chuck Roche.
