Pasquale 'Pat" Lopolito

June 10, 1935 — July 12, 2018

Pasquale “Pat” Lopolito, 83, formerly of Clark Street in Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, July 12, 2018, with the ones  he loved gathered at his side, joining in heaven his wife Norma and daughter Gina.

Pat was born in Worcester and grew up a member of the Italian community of Shrewsbury St. Pat was the son of Francesco and Lucrezia (Garofoli) Lopolito.  He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade with a focus as an electrician, joined the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and served his country for three years.  Upon discharge, he began a 40 year career as an electrician, beginning as an apprentice with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local 96, ascending through the ranks to attend the certification as a Master Electrician before retiring.   As a worker, Pat worked mainly out of the Union, for various electrical companies including, Morse Brothers and Rennie Electric.  He notably wired the highway lights on interstate 290, during its construction.   

Pats wife of 47 years, Norma F. (DiCicco) Lopolito, passed away in 2005.  He is survived by his daughter Mary Khederian and her husband Greg of Westford; two grandchildren who lovingly called him “Bebe”, Paul and Amy Khederian; son in law  Robin Main of Quincy; brothers in law Robert DiCicco and his wife Suzanne of Shrewsbury, and Paul DiCicco and his wife Diane of Millbury; and many nieces and nephews. Other close members of the family include Richard “Dick” and Phyllis Canzano in Ft Myers, Florida, whom Pat considered a brother. Besides his wife Norma, his daughter Gina Lopolito passed away in 2009 and sister, Grace Simone in 2012. 

Pat was a former member of St Joan of Arc church, the IBEW Local 96, and the Italian American War Veterans Post 3.  Pat loved to play cards with his brother in laws and childhood friends on Shrewsbury St.  Pat enjoyed, vegetable gardening, snowmobiling, trips to Foxwoods casino, cooking, picking mushrooms and deep sea fishing.   Family vacations to Hampton Beach and Narragansett  Bay were always special.  He most recently enjoyed passing the time oil  painting. 

The family would like to say thank you to the entire staff at Life Care Center of Acton and Briarwood Assisted Living of Worcester.

A period of calling hours will be held Friday, July 20th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a prayer service at 11:00 am.  Burial with Military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.   In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Pat to support cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
