Patricia “Pat” (Watts) Antul, 79, a lifelong Worcester resident, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away Friday, September 29th 2023. She is welcomed into heaven by her son, Walter P. “Butch” Antul, III, who passed away in 1989.
Pat was born in Worcester, one of three children of Matthew and Josephine (Sakalauskas) Watts. Raised and educated in Worcester, Pat married Walter P. “Chic” Antul, Jr and became a stay-at-home mom, the Matrirach, caring for her family and home. Pat was kind, funny and had a huge heart. She was a fabulous cook who loved to prepare Lithuanian delicacies or anything her family asked for. She was known as the “crossword queen” enjoying every minute of her puzzles, decorating her home for each holiday with perfection and style, her weekly jaunts to the casino with friends, and the 53 years of summers she cherished at Hampton Beach with her family. She would do anything for her family and always made sure she never missed a story, phone call or text with picture updates from her grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her husband Chic; her daughter Cindy L. Deignan and her husband David; the three grandchildren she cherished, Austin Paul, Bridget Mae of Worcester and Owen Timothy of New York City; her grandpups, Ellie Mae and Jax; Nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors and friends who loved her. In addition to her son Butch, a brother, Paul Watts and sister, Carol Dube predeceased her.
The Antul family would like to thank the VNA Hospice, including Nicole, Catlin and Giselle for the care, comfort, and compassion they gave to Pat during a difficult time.
Funeral services and burial next to Butch were held privately in Notre Dame Cemetery. Memorial remembrances in Pat’s name can be made to the Sherry’s House, Why Me, 1152 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, is honored to serve the Antul family once more.
