Patricia A. (Uglevich) “Pat” Bazydlo, 78 formerly of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the home she shared in Charlton with her daughter, Angela, surrounded by her loving family. She drew great strength from her faith in God and now rests in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Pat was born on January 22, 1941, in Maynard, and graduated from Maynard High School and Burbank School of Nursing. She was a nurse for more than 40 years, and worked at several area hospitals; she served as an Operating Room nurse at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester before her retirement. Pat was a devoted caretaker, and a selfless and thoughtful person who always put others before herself. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Giorgio and her husband Kevin, with whom she lived in Charlton, and her son, Joseph Bazydlo, and his wife Angela, of Worcester. She leaves behind four precious grandchildren, Diana and Marci Giorgio, and Madison and Joseph “Joey” Bazydlo Jr., who were the light of her life. She also leaves a close friend, O. Swift Hathaway of Wells, Maine, and countless close friends. Pat was predeceased by her father Joseph Uglevich Sr., her mother Valerie Uglevich, and her ex-husband, Edward “Angie” Bazydlo, with whom she remained close to until his passing in 2004.
Pat’s happiest moments were spent at the beach in Maine, on trips with friends, and just hanging out with friends and family at the pool. She treasured time spent in the company of her children and grandchildren, and never missed a sporting event or dance recital where she could cheer them on from the sidelines. Even throughout her illness, “Gram” loved to drive her grandchildren to sporting events, dance, and school; she cherished those times more than any other in her life. She was a devoted Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots’ fan, and she enjoyed taking in a game at Fenway Park or watching the games at home. She earned the nickname “SuperBowl Gram” for her outspoken nature during big games, and it became a favorite among her loved ones.
Pat’s family would like to thank the staff at UMASS Medical Center--especially Dr. Annie Ferris, who gave her the comfort and kindness she needed--and the VNA of Worcester and Charlton.
