Patricia N Cronin

October 21, 1937 — June 17, 2023

Patricia N. Cronin,85, a lifelong resident of Worcester passed away Saturday, June 17th, 2023, with the family she loves gathered at her bedside. 

Patricia was born in Worcester, one of eight children of Daniel R. and Mary E. (Ruddy) Cronin.  She graduated from the Commerce high school class of 1956.  Patricia then began a career in the administration office of Bayer-Mingolla Company, taking leading roles in many facets of the corporation before retiring.  Patricia then with a love for children, worked for the Worcester Youth Guidance  Center.  

She is survived by a brother, George Cronin of Melbourne Florida; many nieces and nephews whom she was extremely close to and considered her children; other extended family and friends.   A brother, Daniel Cronin and five sisters, Rita Benoit, Joan McNutt, Mary “Betty” Burker, Alice Sweeney and Ann Moran, all predeceased her.  

Patricia was a wonderful and generous person. She was a kind soul, second mother to all her nieces and nephews, with an abundance of wisdom, guidance, and love.   She enjoyed going to the Casinos and  racetrack with her sisters, and family.  She also enjoyed watching crime dramas while relaxing in her chair with the family dog Molly by her side.  

Funeral services for Patricia will be held privately with burial in St John Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  Memorial remembrances in her name can be made to St Jude’s Childrens research center, 501 St Jude Way, Memphis TN.  The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
