Patricia A. Juinta

Patricia A. Juinta, 59, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018, at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation of Worcester, after many years of valiantly battling a brain tumor.

Patty was born on Sept. 21, 1959 in Worcester, daughter of the late George and Pearl (Derosier) Guinto and lived here all her life. 

Patty is survived by two brothers, Robert Guinto and his wife Sandy and George Guinto, all of Worcester; three sisters, Carol Kozlowski and her husband Paul of West Boylston, Eileen Coyle of Stow, OH, and Barbara Juinta and her partner Mike Nickerson of Worcester. Patty had a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews and they for her: Robbie, Sherry, Bonnie, Jon, Stacey, Jeff, Stevie, Francesca, Susie, Tommy, Shelley, Gianna, Arianna, Dylan, Hunter, Curtis, Stephanie, Julie, Miranda, Nora, Gehrig, Josie, Charlie, Trey, Mia, Samantha, Cecilia, Lissy, and the late Matthew. 

Patty graduated from North High School in 1977. She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 1979 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Worcester State University in 1981. 

Patty worked for many years as a counselor in a group home setting, most recently for Alternatives Inc. Prior to that, she was a chef for the Marriott Hotels. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, trips to Old Orchard Beach and Paris, France, as well as many other destinations around the world. She was an outstanding high school and college athlete, in both Field Hockey and Basketball. Patty was known for her quick wit and sense of humor even in the face of adversity. Her generosity was endless and caring for others was her priority. 

Calling Hours for Patty will be on Friday, November 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral Service will be on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Interment will be at the Howard Street Cemetery in Northborough, MA at a later date.
