Patrick M Palermo

Patrick M. Palermo, 70 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Patrick is survived by his wife of 50 years Elaine F. (DiGiorno) Palermo, who was the love of his life; two daughters, Rachel Rodgers and her husband Tim of Sutton and Tara Langlais and her husband Robert of Millbury; six grandchildren who he adored, Jeffrey, Lexi, Luke, Madison, Bryan, and TJ; two great grandchildren, Gage and Cora; two sisters, Maryann Wilder and her husband Jim and Janis Chesna and her husband Frank all of Worcester; a brother, Donny Palermo and his wife Kim of Millbury; lifelong friends, Billy Bilotta, Jack Caporelli and Elaine Giard; his faithful little companion Tula; many nieces and nephews; and all the children he was a dad to; Justin Rose, Katrina Rose and Gina Rafferty Ingram.

Patrick was the son of the late Albert Palermo and Mary Pecorelli. He was a graduate of North High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He started his career as a head cook and worked his way up to a lieutenant for the special state police at Worcester State Hospital. His favorite career was being a custodian for the Worcester Public Schools.

Patrick loved spending time with his family, fishing, the occasional trip to the casino and was an avid “scrapper.” He would travel miles to find treasures and loved taking his wife with him on these trips and spending quality time together.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 4:00-5:30 pm with his funeral service immediately following at 5:30 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
