It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Paul E. Blondin, 76, of Worcester, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a battle with cancer.
Paul is survived by his loving children; Kelly Fleischmann and her husband Timothy of Idaho, Brian Cavanaugh and his wife Rachel of Arizona, Brianne Blondin of Arizona, and Brady Blondin of Washington, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He leaves behind his cherished siblings; Marie Santom and husband Kevin of Worcester; Diane Drohan of Worcester; and Michael Blondin and his wife Maria of New Jersey along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Paul was the son of the late Paul A. and Ethel (Hall) Blondin. Paul was predeceased by his brother Richard.
Born and raised in Worcester, Paul was a graduate of Burncoat Senior High School class of 1966.
Paul was a proud veteran, serving in the United Stares Air Force as a medic for 16 years. Paul served in the Vietnam War. Upon discharge from service, Paul made his home in AZ where he raised his family. Paul worked for the United States Postal Service for over 15 years.
Paul returned to Worcester when he retired. Paul could always be found watching any of the Boston sports teams. One of Paul's favorite activities was bringing family and friends to Fenway Park where they could cheer on the Red Sox. Paul loved to talk about his children and grandchildren. He was known for his love for golf.
There are no words that can capture how much Paul will be missed.
A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 8:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Internment will immediately follow Mass in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the Rose Monahan Hospice, 10 Judith Road, Worcester.
