His parents, Veite and Anne (Swikla) Butkevich of Worcester, predeceased him.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Miller; his children, two daughters, Shelley Koneczny of Dudley and Nikki Butkevich of Sterling; a son, Todd Butkevich and his husband Edward Steigerwald of Dorchester; two step-children, Jen Lee and her husband Geoff of Fitchburg and John Miller of Worcester; three grandchildren, Madison and Carter Koneczny and Samantha Lee.  Paul is also survived by his first wife and friend Jane Butkevich; a brother, Robert Butkevich of Dallas, TX; a sister, Nancy Grillo of Bonita Springs, FL; and his faithful dog, Oliver, who was always at his side.

Paul enjoyed spending his summers in York, Maine and vacationing down in Savannah, Georgia with his wife.  Paul loved to travel, watch sports, read books, and spend time with family.

Paul was an avid runner and ran in several marathons including, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.  He also enjoyed bike riding; at the age of 60 he did the “Pan-Mass Challenge” to help raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Paul was a kind and gentle man.  He will be missed but not forgotten by his family and friends.

His family would like to thank the caring and compassionate team from the Jewish Healthcare Center and Hospice, for the excellent care given to Paul and his family, during his battle with cancer.
