Paul E. Egusquiza

September 21, 1967 — February 21, 2023

Paul E. Egusquiza, Sr., 55 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Paul was born on September 21,1967 in Lima, Peru, son of the late Maximo Gregorio Egusquiza Rojas and Blanca Ana Vargas Pineda. After graduating high school in Peru, Paul migrated to the United States in 1984.  Paul was a graduate of Worcester State University earning his bachelor’s degree in education on May 19, 2018 and was currently working towards earning his master’s degree.  Paul began his career in the public school system as an Instructional Assistant from 2004 to 2018 eventually becoming a Spanish teacher for the City of Worcester Public Schools at the Challenge and Reach Program for 5 years.

Paul congregated and was a member of HCRN Church in Worcester and was a born-again Christian giving his heart to Christ in 2018.

Paul also had a passion and love for the game of soccer and played for the Grafton Team of the Central Mass Adult Soccer for the past 10 years. He also enjoyed watching soccer tournaments in his spare time.

Paul loved his career as a schoolteacher and he enjoyed working and being around his students, always encouraging them to be serious about education and to be successful in life. He would also take their candy orders if they had earned it and completed their assignments on time. He had a big heart and was very empathetic with the kids at school.

Paul was very outgoing and made friends everywhere he went. He loved spending time with his family, enjoying the pool and going out for dinner. His grandchildren brought out a sensitive side of him that was truly heartwarming to see.

He loved his wife unconditionally, always assuring her that she knew how much he loved her. He constantly brought her flowers and gifts to show his love and appreciation. He enjoyed spending time with good friends and was always down for a “good plate of food”. He was famous for enjoying his country’s cuisine so much that his wife learned to cook all his favorite meals. He also had a great sense of humor, always laughing and joking around.

This past year Paul was extremely excited with the new addition to the family, their puppy “Snoopy”. Everyday life was an adventure full of new joy, silly moments, and lots of cuddles. Paul will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
