Paul G. LaMontagne

Paul G. LaMontagne, 69 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 22, 2021 at UMass Medical Center with his family by his side.

Paul was born in Worcester on September 5, 1952, the only child to Gerald and Mary (Nagle) LaMontagne.  He graduated from North High School and has resided in Worcester all his life.  Paul worked for Verizon formerly New Telephone Company for 25 years before he retired.  Paul also worked as a bus driver for the City of Worcester and later for AA Transportation for 21 years.  He loved fishing especially with his nephews, loved jokes and you could always find him with his nieces and nephews at family gatherings.

Paul is survived by his wife of almost 34 years, Donna J. (Gerardi) LaMontagne; his brother-in-law, James P. Gerardi, Jr. and his significant other Deb Capuano; three sisters-in-law, Paula Gerardi, Peggy DiCicco and her husband John and Tracy Cozzolino and her husband Mark all of Worcester; his mother-in-law, Margaret Gerardi of Worcester; his beloved cats, Teddy and Willy; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends and extended family. He is predeceased by his father-in-law, James P. Gerardi, Sr.

Paul’s services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 with calling hours from 9-11 am and his funeral service to begin immediately at 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA. 01606.
