Paul J. Neslusan, 77, of Auburn, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at UMass Hospital, Lake Avenue.

Paul is survived by three children, Tanya V. Neslusan and her spouse Rebecca, Paul A. Neslusan and his spouse Christine, all from Sturbridge; and Holly A. Neslusan of Jamaica Plain; three siblings, Mark A. Neslusan and his wife Cathleen of Bucksport, Maine, Joyce C. Neslusan of Monroe, NJ, and Cheryl A. MacPherson and her husband Scott of Bound Brook, NJ; four grandchildren, Nicholas C. Neslusan, Isabella Neslusan, William Neslusan, and Griffin Neslusan; nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Worcester, son of the late, Paul A. and Helen (Hanzarak) Neslusan. He graduated from Saint John’s High School in 1966, and later from North Adams State, and received his master’s degree from Westfield State University.

Paul entered the United States Marine Corps out of high school, and served his nation proudly during two tours in Vietnam. Upon returning from Vietnam, he joined the Marine Reserves and later the Army National Guard, followed by the Air Force Reserves, eventually retiring at the rank of Captain in 2005. Paul was an educator at heart and was a teacher in the Springfield Public School system for fifteen years, retiring in the mid 2000’s. Prior to that, he had also worked as a Territory Manager for Merit Oil Company. Paul’s faith was rooted in the Catholic Church and his he took great pride in his work ethic. He was passionate about his service to our country, a deep love of literature, and live theater and found great comfort in his family.

Calling Hours will be on Thursday, March 6, from 4 pm until 7 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
