Paul M Oliveri

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend, Paul M. Oliveri, 74, a lifelong resident of Worcester, who passed away suddenly at home, Monday, August 7, 2023.

Born and raised on Frank Street in Worcester, Paul was one of two sons of Gasper “Scoops” and Anna M. (Toscano) Oliveri.  He graduated from North High, earned his bachelor’s degree and one master’s degree from Clark University.  He later earned a second master’s degree from Anna Maria College.   Paul then joined the family business Toscano’s Market assuming ownership upon the retirement of his mother and father.   Paul retired once the market property was sold to what is now the 111 Chop house.   Needing to be active and busy, Paul then worked part-time for D’Alonzo’s  Service center.   

Paul is survived by his son and best friend, Nicholas G. Oliveri of Worcester; twin grandsons, he was so proud of and spent as much time as he could with them, Lorenzo P.  and Gianno S. Oliveri; his brother, Nicholas E. Oliveri and his wife Pamela of Dennis; nephews Mark and Chris Oliveri, great nephews and niece, Nicholas C., Emilia, and Sofia; his former wife, Elaine (Alarie) Oliveri; Many other cousins, extended family, and friends.  

Paul was a friend to all.  Always with a bright smile, quick wit, and comforting demeanor.  He cherished his son and grandchildren, and loved being with them for holidays, special occasions or anytime he could.  Paul enjoyed music, loved his dogs and grand dog, music and singing.  Paul notably had a superior ability to sing and would carry on a song a request or will.   He was also a huge Yankee, Giants, and sports fan.   

Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours Friday, August 11th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.   His service will be held at 11 am Saturday in the funeral home.  Entombment in St John Mausoleum will be held at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in his name can be made to Worcester You Inc., 2 Granite Street, Worcester, MA 01604
