Phyllis (Myers) Buck

August 5, 1950 — March 24, 2025

Worcester

Phyllis M. (Myers) Buck, 74, of Worcester, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Monday, March 24th, after a brief illness.

Born in Boston to Philip and Agnes (Shine) Myers, Phyllis grew up in Watertown before eventually settling in Shrewsbury, where she raised her children and became a cherished part of the community. She dedicated over 30 years to the University of Massachusetts System, holding various positions and forming lasting friendships along the way.

Phyllis is survived by her beloved children, Mike Buck and his wife Michele of Grafton, and Heather Dionne and her husband Paul of Libertyville, Illinois. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kyle Buck and Kira and Tessa Dionne. She also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends.

A dedicated volunteer at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, Phyllis found joy in her work and the friendships she built, lovingly known as the "Peeps." She was kind, social, and always ready with a story. She loved to travel—whether embarking on a spontaneous road trip or soaking up the sun on a Caribbean cruise. But above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was always up for a game of cards, dominoes, or a silly board game, filling every gathering with laughter and warmth. Her stories and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services and burial will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Arts, 2 Southbridge Street, Worcester, MA 01608. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
