Phyllis (Bartczak) Rawinski

Phyllis C. (Bartczak) Rawinski, 93 of Worcester, MA, passed away with loved ones gathered at her side Sunday, December 25, 2022. Phyllis joins in heaven her loving husband of 58 years, Walter J. Rawinski, who passed away in March of 2006.

Phyllis was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Grabowski) Bartczak. Raised and educated in the city, she met and married Walter and they built a life centered around love, devotion, faith and family. Phyllis remained a Worcester resident her entire life.

Phyllis is survived by her four children, Steven Rawinski, and his wife Mary, of Worcester, MA, Paul Rawinski, and his wife Renee, of North Grosvenordale, CT, Christine Lunney, and her husband Tom, of West Palm Beach, FL, and Eleanor Kuszewski, and her husband Billy, of Thompson, CT; five grandchildren, Meredith, Andrew, Erica, Joshua and Peter; along with several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her six siblings.  

Phyllis was a kindhearted and generous woman, who gave of herself and devoted her life to her family and friends. She cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and ensured all those around her were well cared for. She enjoyed traveling, knitting and gardening, and was admired for her effervescent personality and sense of humor.

Funeral services and entombment at Notre Dame Mausoleum alongside Walter were held privately.  Memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the McAuley Nazareth Home for Boys, 77 Mulberry Street, Leicester, MA 01524. The Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605, kindly assisted the family with arrangements.
