Pietro "Peter" Casillo

October 29, 1943 — February 11, 2021

Pietro “Peter” Angelo Casillo, 77 of Worcester a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 after a short period of declining heath.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Bianca Maria (Gabriele); his identical twin daughters, Carmella M. Casillo of Auburn, Rosanna Clancy, her husband Joseph L. Clancy, Sr. and their sons, Joseph Leo Jr and Thomas Peter, all of Upton. A brother, Eugene Casillo and his wife Camille of Worcester; in addition to nieces, nephews and extended family members both in the US and Italy. His sister Maria Casillo Ulto, beloved Aunt Margaret Assad and his parents predeceased him.  

Born in Grottaminarda, province of Avellino, Italy, he was one of three children of Tommaso and Carmela (Petrillo) Casillo. Raised in Italy, Peter and his family immigrated to the United States at the age of 16 with the help of his Aunt Margaret and began a new life in Worcester. On a return trip to visit relatives in Italy, Pietro travelled to Arpino and met and in 1974 married Bianca M. Gabriele. Together they returned to Worcester and began their new life raising their twin daughters with love, devotion and faith in the Lakeview neighborhood of Worcester. Pietro was a self-employed interior painter and wall paperer for many years before retiring. 

Pietro was a member of St Anne’s Church and was devoted to his Catholic faith and Italian heritage. An avid reader and talented artist, he enjoyed drawing and painting, and was particularly fond of art history. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Peter adored his twin girls and took great pride in being with them and his cherished grandsons whenever he could.
