Prudence Mary (Bassan) Festa, 81, of Auburn, MA passed away August 18, 2022, at Life Care Center of Auburn, after a period of declining health. Born to the late Earl and Theresa (Brown) Bassan, she was the beloved wife of Anthony Festa, loving mother of Michael Festa and Richard (Kimberly) Festa, doting grandmother of Sean and Matthew Festa, cherished sister of Mary Nelson, and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Prudence was preceded in death by her siblings, Earl Bassan, Irene (Bassan) Nelson, Sally (Bassan) Lorusso, Donald Bassan, and George Bassan.
Prudence was a devoted Catholic with a very strong faith and a huge heart. She was a front-end supervisor at Fortin’s Market for 11 years, and all the teen employees truly loved her. She was a genuinely good person, often supporting charities and causes close to her heart, and she was an amazing mother and wife. She always put others before herself. Above all, she loved her family and relished time spent on trips to Maine and Cape Cod and being with her grandkids.
Friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Wednesday, August 24 from 9:30-11:00 AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. A brief funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 AM with interment in St. John’s Cemetery & Mausoleum, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue – Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601
