Ray A. Renzoni, 82 of Berlin, MA, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough, MA surrounded by his family. Ray was predeceased by his wife of fifty-six years, Patricia (Sacco) Renzoni and his son-in-law, David Sweetapple. He leaves behind two daughters, Robin Renzoni-Sweetapple of Brattleboro, VT and Karen Galligan and her husband, James Galligan of Medway, MA; two grandchildren, Joseph Galligan of Hudson, MA and William Galligan of Medway, MA. Ray was also predeceased by two of his siblings, Roy Renzoni and Judy (Renzoni) O'Connor, but is survived by Robert Barrett, Jean (Renzoni) Nelson, Joan (Renzoni) Morelli, Rico Renzoni, and Rex Renzoni.
Ray was born in Worcester, MA, son to Gertrude E. (Converse) and Andrew N. Renzoni. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and spent two years in the Navy aboard the destroyer John Paul Jones during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ray earned a Bachelors of Architecture from Boston Architectural (Center) College and designed many buildings including St. Joseph's Church in Charlton, MA, the Raymond J. Salmon Post Office in Clinton, MA, and the Northbrook Village in Berlin, MA to name a very few. He served as the building inspector in Maynard, MA and was active in the Hudson Rotary for many years. He had an infectious laugh, a great sense of humor, and was a stalwart friend.
There will be a celebration of life and a funeral mass on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Jospeh's Church, Charlton, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation.
