Raymonde (Fiset) Forjette, 80 of Worcester passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at UMass Medical Center.
Raymonde was born and raised in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, Canada, one of thirteen children to the late Rosario and Juliette (Nault) Fiset and where she graduated from high school. She studied teaching and learned English, which she then taught and left her hometown of Cap-de-la-Madeleine to pursue. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Toronto and Montreal before moving to Worcester to raise a family with her husband.
Raymonde was a devout Catholic and active member of St. George's Catholic Church and a member of a painting and art group through the Worcester Art Museum. She was a very giving person to those in need by often filling her rare spare time with a variety of volunteer activities such as transporting food for local food pantries and visiting elderly and sick people in their homes and in the hospital. Raymonde also volunteered for the local chapter of the National Scleroderma Foundation and was a home hospice care volunteer. Above all, she was a devoted and loving Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-Law and Wife and she dedicated most of her life to raising her children and grandchildren. They above all were her passion and life's work. She was also a very loving and devoted sister to her many siblings and often traveled to Trois-Rivières with her husband and children to be with and support family in Canada.
Raymonde is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph D. Forjette; a son, Joseph M. Forjette and his wife Mary; a daughter, Michelle Forjette all of Worcester; a brother, Emile Fiset of Trois-Rivières, Canada; four sisters, Claudette Mongrain and Louise Fiset both of Trois-Rivières, Canada, Micheline Fiset and Ruth Fiset both of Quebec City, Canada; four grandchildren, Zachary, Quinlan, Delia and Dylan Forjette; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two brothers and five sisters.
