Richard A. Ferro, 69, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020, in the comfort of his home.
Richard is survived by his three children, Nicole M Ferro of Millbury, David R. Ferro of Holden, and Mark A. Ferro and his wife Jeane of Grafton; a sister, Louise Ferro of Sarasota, FL; nine grandchildren, Kailen, Kamiren, Braden, Angela, Dominic, Sabrina, Liam, Zachary, and Nolan; nieces and nephews. Richard was born in Worcester son of the late, Dominic and Mary (Scioscia) Ferro, and has lived here all his life.
Richard graduated from Worcester North High School and served his nation proudly in the United States Army. He later gradated from Worcester State University having earned a bachelor’s degree. Richard worked as a case manager for twenty-two years, for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, in both Grafton and Worcester, before retiring in 2013.
While he enjoyed deep sea fishing and got fulfillment from helping youths through his work, it was the joy of being surrounded by his children and grandchildren that brought him the greatest satisfaction.
Calling Hours will be on Saturday, June 27, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, follow by a Service at 10:30 a.m. Social Distancing practices and the use of face masks that cover nose and mouth, will be observed.
"Live Streaming" of the service will begin at 10:15 a.m.
Interment will be in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
