Richard H. Loiseau, 69, a lifelong resident and local business owner passed away Tuesday , January 14, 2025, after a period of declining health.
Richard was born in Worcester, the son of Henry “Hank” and Therese (Letourneau) Loiseau. He graduated from North High School class of 1973. Richard met then soon married in 1980 the “love of his life” Kathleen Scott and began a life of family, faith and love raising their family. Richard founded, owned, operated, and nurtured several Worcester cleaning services and businesses including Loiseau’s Carpets & Upholstery and Kings Linen among others providing for his family before retiring.
Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen; three children he cherished and was so proud of, Scott Loiseau and his wife Haley of Dayton, Ohio, Tara Richardson and her husband Brian of Grafton, Nikki DiMaria and her husband Christopher of Las Vegas; a sister Michele Skiest and her husband Stephen of Boylston; two brothers, Christian Loiseau of Worcester, and Brendan Murphy of Sterling; a step mother Fay Loiseau of Sterling; eight adoring grandchildren, Isabelle, Tyler, Lily, Brayden, Summer, Zachary, Mila and Blake; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Richard loved life, his family and friends and always kept in close contact with each. Richard notably loved motorcycles and as a youth and young adult competed nationally winning many competitions. He also enjoyed fishing, skiing, golfing, cooking, grilling, the holidays and special occasions where he could be with his family and friends. These memories will be the ones that will be cherished.
A period of calling hours will be held Friday, January 17th from 9:00 am to 10:45 at Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel, 370 Plantation Street followed by a procession to Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am. Burial will be private.
