Richard J. Michaud, Sr.

Richard J. Michaud, Sr., 87, of New Bedford, formerly of Philliptons and Worcester, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Brandon Woods of New Bedford.  His loving wife of sixty-four years, Saundra M. (Lashua) Michaud, predeceased him in April 2021.

Richard is survived by two daughters, Cindy Pina and her husband Charles and Terri Flattes; a son, Richard “Rick” Michaud, Jr.; three grandchildren, Randy Kennedy of Athol, Steven Kennedy of New Bedford, and Jennifer Streicher of Winchendon; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A daughter, Kim Austin, predeceased him in 2015.

Richard was born in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, son of the late George and Alberta (Guey) Michaud, and is the last of fourteen children.  He worked as a contractor for many years.

An intimate celebration of life for immediate family and friends will be held at a later date.

The family has entrusted MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL.
