Richard G. Seigh, 79 a lifelong resident of Worcester, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, September 4, 2021, after a period of declining health. He rejoined in heaven with the love of his life, Patricia (Meringolo) Seigh, who passed away in 2004.
Richard is survived by his three daughters, Debra A Frost and her husband Jeffrey of Shrewsbury, Tina M DiPilato and her husband John of Worcester and Kelly A Seigh of Warwick, RI; a brother Robert Constanzo and his wife Carmella in Florida; four beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Deanna, Amanda, and Matthew; Nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Richard was born in Worcester, the son of Ferris Syiek and Bambina Seigh. Raised and educated in Worcester, he married Patricia in 1963, and lived in love, devotion, and faith, raising and nurturing their family until March 22, 2004, when Patricia left his side. Richard continued to lead, counsel, and guide his family through life’s challenges. Richard supported his family as an insurance agent for John Hancock Life Insurance before retiring.
Richard was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, and the Adelphi Counsel Knights of Columbus in Shrewsbury. A generous man with a big heart, Richard loved to entertain and be surrounded by family and friends, especially at his camp on Stiles Reservoir in Spencer, where everyone was always welcome. He was lovingly referred to as “Captain Dick” for his pontoon boat rides and the “Popcorn Man” for always preparing and gifting his favorite snack.
The family of Richard Seigh would like to thank the staff and nurses at Oasis at Dodge Park, especially Diana, Renee, and Donna.
A period of calling hours will be held Friday, September 10th from 8:30 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St leaving in precession at 1045 to Our Lady of Loreto Church, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts, 512 Forest St, Marlborough, MA 01752. www.specialolympicsma.org
