Richard W. Trainer “The Big R” passed away on October 31, 2024, at Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center after a short battle with cancer. Richard was born in Worcester, son of the late Frank and Nancy (Benner) Trainer. His beloved wife Kerry Ann (Berry) predeceased him on July 31, 2021.

Richard leaves his sisters and brothers-in-law, Nicole and her husband Kevin Morrissey of Leicester, Elise and her husband Ronald Bordage, Randy and her husband Rick Henry all of Worcester, Kelly Luczyk of Yarmouth; 9 siblings and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He also leaves behind a dear friend Paul Riley. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister Debra Plaud; his in laws, Edward and Patricia Berry and his sister-in-law, Michelle Tower.

Richard grew up on Lincoln St. and graduated from North High School. He was a member of Genesis and attended ARCA. He was very spiritual and had a deep faith in God. He served as an altar boy at St. Bernard’s Church. Richard loved to dance and listen to music; his favorite artists were Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. He loved to watch Halloween horror films and The Three Stooges. Richard and his wife loved to travel to Florida. He was a big fan of the Florida Gators. Richard enjoyed making new friends whenever he could. To know Richard was to love Richard. His family would like to thank the staff at ARCA and Webster Manor for the kind, compassionate care that they gave Richard.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Bernard's Catholic Church of Our Lady of Providence, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment will immediately follow at St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
