Robert V. Bourn, Sr., 87 of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at home with his family by his side.
Bob was born in Worcester and grew up in Oxford where he graduated from Oxford High School. He was the son of the late Vernon I. and Helen G. (Dillon) Bourn. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for many years at Allegro as a final tester before he retired. He previously worked as a parts manager for Lawless Cadillac-Pontiac. Bob was a longtime member of Singletary Rod and Gun Club and was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and all New England sports teams.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores (Mele) Bourn; two daughters, Donna Bourn of Worcester and Debra Bourn-Hammerle and her husband Carl of North Carolina; a son, Robert V. Bourn, Jr.; a sister, Constance Inez-Tarbell of Webster; eight grandchildren who were his world, Lindsey, Robert, III and his wife Heather, Jillian and her husband Bryan, Stephen and his fiancé Jillian, Alex, Ryan, Carly and Kyle; two great grandchildren, Robert, IV and Hailey; many nieces and nephews including one he was very close with, Louis Raddi of Worcester. He is predeceased by a sister, Helyn Behrens.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 9-11 am with his funeral service immediately following at 11:00 am in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
