Robert L Gentile, 74, formerly of Millbury, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep, Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
Robert was born in Worcester, one of four children of Louis and Claudia (St George) Gentile. Raised in Worcester, Robert graduated from the Carpentry program of Worcester Boys Trade. He then embarked on a life of construction, building and remodeling, large and small projects. Robert owned and operated Millbury/Sutton Home Improvement before retiring. He previously worked as a supervisor for Reed, Rico company.
Robert is survived by his wife Janet (Gregg) Gentile, six children, Robert L. Gentile, (Ann Marie) of Northbridge, Brenda Gentile of Worcester, Brian Gentile, (Adrianne), Sherry Lavimodiere (Michael), Charles Billington (Shannon) all of Millbury, and Philip Billington of Gill, Ma; three sisters, Martha “Marty” Gentile, Judith Gentile of Auburn, and Carol Guyette of Dudley; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; Nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A granddaughter Erica Lara, and brother-in-law, Paul Rix predeceased him.
Robert had many enjoyments in life; his family, his work and his Golf. When not working or at home, Robert could be found golfing. He enthusiastically golfed any course he could. His special favorites, Poland Springs, Pleasant Valley, Cyprian Keyes and many others. Robert also enjoyed fishing, Country Line Dancing and the beaches of Ft Myers, Florida with his wife Janet.
A period of calling hours will be held Monday, January 23rd, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, followed by his funeral service at 10:30. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, North Grafton.
