Robert G. Zeena, 86, of Worcester, a proud Marine Corps Veteran, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

 Bob is survived by his three sons, of whom he was very proud, Robert Zeena, Jr. and his wife Karen of Cheshire, CT, Timothy Zeena and his wife Lisa of Boxborough, and Scott Zeena and his wife Heather of Sterling; a brother Raymond Zeena and his wife Barbara of Greeley, CO; a sister Helen Faucher and her husband Roger of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Laura, Jason, Derek, Alyssa, Cassandra, Allison and her husband John, and Jillian ; a great granddaughter, Sophia; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister and a brother, Ruth Bernlitz and Richard Zeena.  Bob was born in Worcester, grew up in the Grafton Hill section of the city, and was the  son of the late, Ralph A. and Alice V. (Orfalea) Zeena. Bob raised his family in Holden living there for more than 40 years before returning to Worcester.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

 

Bob was the owner and proprietor of Holden Meat and Seafood that he successfully operated for nearly a decade. He learned and perfected his trade as a Butcher after his discharge from the Marine Corps.  He also worked for many years at both the Big D and Big Y. He was a member of Saint George Orthodox Cathedral.  He enjoyed golfing, reading, gardening, dancing, and music of all genres.  Even in his final years at Holy Trinity he could be found tending to his makeshift flower and vegetable gardens in the courtyard.  His greatest joy was his family, and he was most proud of his sons and their families. 

 

Calling Hours will be on Friday, February 23, from 9:30 a.m. until a Prayer Service begins at 11:30 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Holden.
