Roland "Ronnie" Gerardi, Jr.

Roland A. “Ronnie” Gerardi, Jr., 71, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at UMass Hospital, with family at his bedside.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Kara Schneider and her husband Ronnie of Glen Allen, Virginia; his grandson, Jackson Schneider; seven siblings, Sheila Gerardi and her husband Joseph Vacca of Shrewsbury, Sharon Gerardi and her husband Arthur Smick of Worcester Twins Kevin Gerardi of Worcester and Karen Gerardi of Millbury, Robin Cano and her husband Steve of Millbury, Kim Gerardi of Westerly, RI, and Mary Beth Friel and her husband David of Webster, NY; his long-time partner, Linda Correia of Worcester, and her daughters, Amy and Lindsay, and their families; his aunts, Jenny and Sylvia Gerardi; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins, including a close cousin Louis Ricciardi, and a host of friends.  His brother, Mark D. Gerardi, predeceased him in October 2021.  He was born in Worcester, son of the late Roland “Tex” and Lena (Ricciardi) Gerardi and has lived here all his life.

Ron worked for many years with his brother Kevin and his father at Tex’s Garage on Hamilton Street in Worcester.  Ron was not only a master mechanic, he was also an “urban cowboy”, riding horses, roping cattle and competing in rodeos throughout the United States.  He picked up the love for horses while spending time with friends at Quick Farm in Westborough. 

Ron had been a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the ITAM Club, and Brown Square Civic Club.  He always had a friendly smile and enjoyed conversations with friends and family alike.

Calling Hours will be on Thursday, August 18, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  His Funeral will be on Friday, August 19, departing the funeral home at 9:40a.m. in procession to at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Anne’s Church, 120 Boston Turnpike Road (route 9 east), Shrewsbury, MA 01545.  Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
