Ronald Carl Anderson, 82, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Sima) Anderson; his loving children, Kenneth Anderson and his wife Michelle, and Karen Wilder; his adored grandchildren, Victoria and Nathan Wilder; and his caring sister Jant Kaszewski. He also leaves many nephews, cousins, great nieces, and close friends.
Born in Worcester on January 22, 1943, Ronald was the son of the late Carl and Edith (Carlson) Anderson. He grew up on Vernon Hill before his family moved to Paxton. Soon after Ronald was done with school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Brunswick, Maine and Rota, Spain. Ronald was very proud to serve his county.
When Ronald returned, he continued his career in Machinery. He was quite mechanical and enjoyed repairing small machinery. Working for Cincinnati Millicron Heald Machine Division for 25 years, where they called him “Andy” until they closed their doors. He then worked for Carling Turbine in Duglas. Ronald would not forget where he started his love of being a machinist, when he worked for Lunquiest Tool as a teenager.
Although Ronald loved machinery, he truly loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He coached Tee ball at Greenwood Park and was involved in Lou Gerhig Little League. Ronald enjoyed to fish, was known for cooking great shishkabob and an avid member of the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Shrewsbury.
There are no words that can capture how much Ronald will be missed.
A period of calling hours will be held for Ronald on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11:00a.m. in St. Ncholas Orthodox Church, 34 Gold Street, Shrewsbury. Interment will immediately follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
