Ronald J Murphy, Sr.,67, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family. Ronald was born on January 8, 1954, in Boston, Massachusetts and was preceded in death by his father Francis Murphy and his mother Susie (Brusig) Murphy and his brother William Murphy. Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1975, having attained the rank of Sergeant. He is survived by his five sons, John MacMillan of Worcester, Ronald Murphy, Jr. of New Hampshire, Brandin Murphy of Worcester, Blake Murphy and his fiancé Ashley Dolimpio of Worcester and Andrew Giacoppo of Worcester; a daughter, Jackie MacMillian. He also leaves his former wife, Maria E. (Slocum) Murphy; 12 Grandchildren; two brothers, Frank & Thomas; two sisters, SueAnn and Maureen and many nieces, and nephews. Ronald was a member of the IBEW Local #103 and was employed as a union electrician for over 14 years, and until the end was still a proud member of the union Ronald enjoyed his work on job sites throughout New England. Ronald was a hardworking man who enjoyed fishing and being with his family. Calling hours for Ronald will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. His services to follow at 3:30 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
