Rose M Morello

Rose M. (Calce) Morello, 96 of Worcester passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 18^th, 2019 with her devoted daughters at her side.  

Rose was born in Shrewsbury, the daughter of Italian immigrants John and Clorinda (Pacifico) Calce.  Raised in Worcester, Rose graduated from Commerce High School, worked as a sales administrator for the Norton Company, before accepting a position as assistant librarian for the College of the Holy Cross many years before retiring.  She raised her family in the Massasoit Road area of Worcester and was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church.

Rose’s husband of 49 years, Louis A Morello passed away in 1997.  She is survived by two daughters, Jane Morello -Stambaugh VMD, and her husband John of Mystic, CT, Carol Morello VMD and her husband Kelly Moran of Wilbraham; two sisters, Josephine M. Brodeur of Brewster, and Claire Green of Maryland; two cherished grandchildren who called her Nana, John L Stambaugh and his wife Jennifer of Ledyard, CT and Jessica A. Stambaugh of Nashville, TN;  two great grandsons who loving referring to her as Great Nana Rose, Daniel P and William J. Stambaugh; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the home caregivers from Specialty Home Care Services as well as to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at UMass 6ICU unit for their compassionate care.

Friends and relatives are invited to gather for calling hours Tuesday, May 21^st from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  Her funeral will be held Wednesday, May 22, from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road where her celebration of Christian burial mass will be held at 9:30 am.   Burial in St John Cemetery will follow.
