Rosemary (Roncone) Curry, 72, a lifelong Worcester resident passed away Friday, December 23rd, 2022, with her devoted daughter gathered at her bedside. She joins in heaven her husband Kenneth Curry Sr. , son, Kenneth Curry, Jr. and granddaughter Sydni Calcagni.
Rosemary was born in Worcester, one of five children of Francis and Clara (Gallicchio) Roncone. Raised here, Rosemary graduated from Venerini Academy. She briefly worked in the administration department of Jamesbury Corporation before marrying Kenneth M. Curry, Sr. and becoming a domestic engineer caring for her home and family, a job she truly loved and took great pride in.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter and best friend, Maria Calcagni, and her husband Jason of Worcester; Three brothers David Roncone of Worcester, Francis Roncone of Sutton, and Ronald Roncone of Wilbraham; a sister, Janice Roncone of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren she adored and looked forward to seeing as often as possible, Brianna Ortiz, who she helped guide and raise and her husband Pete, Kailee Curry and Jayden Calcagni; a great grandson Mason Ortiz; nieces, nephews, extended family members and lifelong friends, including Eileen Riopel and Leanora Ryan, that will dearly miss her.
Rosemary grew up in the Lincoln Street neighbor of Worcester, her neighborhood was welcoming, friendly, helpful and a wonderful place to live. On numerous occasions over the years, you could find Rosemary at Riley’s on Lincoln, with friends, discussing the days affairs or talking with friends. She had an extremely large group of friends who loved Rosemary. She enjoyed many wonderful years at her home in Hyannis on Cape Cod, trips to Aruba her favorite or helping her children watching the kids, and making sure they had everything they needed.
A period for calling hours will be held Saturday, December 31st from 9 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a procession to Our Lady of Providence/ St Bernard Church, 228 Lincoln St. where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Way, Memphis, Tenn.
