Ruth E. Leone

Ruth E. (Desy) Leone, 93 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Paul D. and Blanche G. (Quillia) Desy. She graduated from Oxford High School and then entered the work force where she worked as a comptroller for Hillcrest Dairy and Crompton Knowles. Ruth met and married her late husband Pasquale J. Leone in 1950 and stopped working to raise her family. After 25 years of marriage he sadly passed in February of 1976. Ruth was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church.

Ruth is survived by her four children, Anthony P. Leone and Lisa M. Leone with whom she lived, Nancy A. McLeod and her husband Merdic J. McLeod, Jr. of West Chester, PA and Jane P. Leone of Leicester; her grandson, Merdic J. McLeod, III of West Chester, PA; two sisters, Jane Montigny and her husband Norman of South Bethany, DE and Ann DeFeudis and her husband Donald of Webster; her sister-in-law, Madeleine Desy of Shrewsbury; many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Paul Desy and her sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Charles Walsh.

Ruth’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
