It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden loss of a great individual and community supporter, Salvatore “Sal” Gianfriddo, 70 of West Brookfield, on Sunday April 18, 2021 at home.
Sal was born on Christmas day in 1950, and raised in Worcester, the son of Vincent J. Gianfriddo, Sr and Louise C. (Russo) Gianfriddo. He graduated from Commerce High school and has lived in Worcester, Boylston, and the past 36 years in West Brookfield with the “Love of his Life” and soulmate for over 42 years Dori (Casamasima) Gianfriddo.
Sal was a generous, caring man with a huge heart, great sense of humor, with an exceptional personality. He was an Antique car and Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, and with a group of hardworking and caring group of volunteers operated Gianfriddo Crusin’ Promotions, designed to bring similar car and motorcycle owners together to enjoy an era of great joy. Many of his shows were held to support community causes such as MDA and Make a Wish.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel parish and the Pope John Council Knights of Columbus. In addition to cars and motorcycles, Sal cherished his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren, and his best friend pet terrier “Mickey”. Nothing in his life came before them and Sal was at his proudest moments when he was together with family during holidays, special occasions, and family gatherings.
Sal is survived by his wife Dori; his three children, Jared Gianfriddo of Worcester, Marie Graveson and her husband Jason of Dudley, Erik Fales, and his wife Melissa of Ware; his four adored grandchildren, Julia, Alicia, Noah, and Giana; his pet terrier always at his side, Mickey; three brothers, Vincent Giafriddo Jr., Francis and Michael Giafriddo, nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. His sister, Laura Chase predeceased him.
Sal’s relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family, Thursday, April 22nd from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held, Friday, April 23rd from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. where his Mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
