Salwa Elmaalouf 64, of Worcester a unassuming, faith filled women passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 13, 2018 surrounded by the ones she loved.
Salwa was born in Aita Alfokhar Lebanon, one of 6 children of Elias and Hafitha (Kassis) Elmaalouf. Raised and educated in Lebanon, Salwa immigrated to the United States in the 1980’s to be with her sister in Worcester. Salwa spent her days working alongside her Sister assisting at Lee’s Bakery.
Salwa is survived by her sister and best friend, Ann Ansara and her husband with whom she lived: a brother, George Elmaalouf in Lebanon; nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Salwa was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family, cooking at Lee’s bakery, family dinners, and trips to Maine. Salwa’s Christian Orthodox faith was paramount in her life; She read the bible daily, attended church faithfully on Sunday and special religious holidays. She loved life and being with her family especially her nieces and nephews. Salwa was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone she could.
Private funeral services in St George Orthodox Cathedral and burial in Hope Cemetery will be held privately. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name can be made to St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. “Memory Eternal” The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
